We engaged Arc Engineering to design and supply the balconies on our Cherrywood T5 project in November 2024. The site incorporated both block built duplexes and pre-cast concrete frame apartments.

From the outset and through the whole of the design process Arc were extremely knowledgeable and engaging. During design we came across some site specific details and challenges, all of which we were able to design our way around without effecting elevations or internal floor heights within the buildings.

When it came to construction stage Arc kept materials coming as per programme without delays, and on one or two occasions were able to accommodate us in areas were programme changed and we progressed ahead earlier then agreed.

The final product and the fitting stage was a seamless process with balconies arriving to site exactly when required and going straight into place, removing the risk of damage occurring while being stored on site. Overall through the whole site, what is a very complicated element of the build process went seamlessly and without delay.

Our collaboration with Arc Engineers on Owenmore Hall, a 105-unit residential scheme on Station Road, Raheny, Dublin, was a thoroughly positive experience. The project presented a range of challenges, particularly around the design and detailing of the balconies — from cantilevered and supported types to sawtooth, offset, and double configurations, many incorporating bespoke solar shading elements.

One of the most distinctive features was the use of translucent glass solar screens, rotated in plan to prevent direct views from the balconies into the rear gardens of the neighbouring houses. This detail was both technically demanding and architecturally sensitive. Arc approached it with enthusiasm and rigour, helping to develop a solution that was both elegant and buildable — something few others were willing to take on.

“Earlsfort Homes engaged Arc Engineering to design, offsite manufacture, and install the complete balcony package for our residential development Owenmore Hall, Station Road, Raheny, Dublin 5.  The scheme comprises 105 apartments within a single block ranging from four to seven storeys, including set-back upper levels.

The balcony package was particularly complex, incorporating a variety of balcony TYPES – RECTANGULAR, CORNER AND SAW TOOGH GEOMETRIES.  Severn of the saw tooth balconies were specifically designed to house bespoke solar shading fins on the north elevation, adding both architectural definition and significant engineering complexity to the façade strategy.  The overall package included cantilevered and supported balconies, delivered in a combination of single, double and offset stacked configurations.

Arc Engineering worked closely with our design team and project engineers from an early stage demonstrating a highly collaborative and solutions-driven approach.  Their in-house design team brought a strong blend of technical knowledge and practical foresight, particularly evident in their handling of the project’s varied façade interfaces and complex geometries.

Given the site’s logistical constraints – including limited storage and tight access – precise planning and just-in-time delivery were essential.  Arc’s proactive co-ordination ensured a smooth installation process with minimal disruption to the overall programme.

MKN Property Group have worked with ARC Engineering on a no of projects recently where they were appointed to do all steel fabrication and fitting.
Most recently we worked together on apartments in Fosterstown Place in Swords in which part of their package consisted of the manufacture and fitting of pre-fabricated balconies.
It was the first time we used this system, and I found the process seamless from start to finish.
From supplying the template/shucks to schedule with floor screed program, then stubs fitted following Brickwork, everything was delivered and fitted as agreed on schedule which were accompanied by weekly inspections and constructive and helpful site team led by Dave Duffy.
Once scaffold was removed, the balconies were delivered and fitted in a very timely and efficient manner. I genuinely was very impressed with this system, and they fitted perfectly and the whole building was completed over 14 working days which included 54 separate balconies up to 7 storeys and the main thing is they look great.
It is our intention to use this system and ARC Engineering on any future projects with similar required and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering using them or this system.

John Paul Construction engaged the services of Arc Engineering to design, manufacture and install a ‘glide-on’ balcony solution for the Cornerstone Development in Stillorgan, Co Dublin.  This project consisted of 232 apartments, in 5 nr blocks, ranging in height from 4 no. storeys to 8 no. storeys.

Arc Engineering were pivotal in providing early design which in turn progressed to a full-scale balcony mock-up for design team review and to demonstrate the product quality in terms of aesthetic finish for client appraisal and approval.

The balconies were prefabricated off-site and delivered to an agreed installation sequence in line with the Project Programme.  Site installation went seamlessly with safety always a priority.

We would like to congratulate Arc Engineering on the successful delivery of this key component of the build.  The finish of the completed balconies is of an excellent standard and has won compliments from all stakeholders, not least from John Paul Construction and our Client.

Arc Engineering completed the installation of balconies on 247 apartments at Barnwell Point.

The balconies were prefabricated off-site to an agreed delivery / installation sequence in line with the project programme.

Re.  Oisin House:  Working with Arc Engineering through a difficult period during the pandemic proved beneficial to Bennetts as they cooperated with all challenges, even with site closures and delays, Arc still delivered on time and met all dates on a challenging programme. Install included balustrades to 4 main stair cores, with unique balustrades installed in basement areas that included squash court viewing galleries.
